Who is Lydia Vereen?

Lydia Vereen is a mixed media artist based in the Carolinas. She will be receiving a BSBA in Marketing and a Minor in Studio Art. Vereen’s practices span a variety of mediums such as 2D water based paintings, ink and charcoal drawing, and 3D sculptures from materials such as plaster and wood.

Her work is deeply rooted in the quiet moments of life and positive outlooks inviting audiences to slow down, reflect, and find tranquility in the human experience. Vereen’s subject matter often has naturalistic imagery and reflections of humanity that are executed by practices of repetition and replication which bring inner experiences and external connections together.

Beyond her individual creation’s Vereen is an active advocate for the arts, contributing to clubs and organizations that highlight emerging artists and their work to grow the local artist community. Her expertise in developing social media campaigns, artist interviews, and website management bring awareness to creative initiatives in her region

Driven by personal talent and a commitment to expand artists reach her work overall encourages others to follow their passion and look closely at the details in their daily lives. She plans to incite creative growth in herself and others by highlighting stories of humanity, cultivating a sense of unity in an independent world.
